Quick Facts
Lance Henry joined the Aptitude Internet team in November of 2019 as a Field Technician. Before joining the team, Henry had accumulated nearly a decade of experience working with managed service providers throughout Southwest Missouri. Henry’s wealth of experience soon proved invaluable to essential operations at Aptitude, leading to his current position as Systems and Network Manager.
As much as Henry loves Southwest Missouri, having been born and raised in the heartland of America, he couldn’t resist the call to crisp couture and world culture and so enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2006. Henry was trained at Camp Pendleton in California and was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines where he became expert in his duties as a Rifleman, Team Leader & Squad Leader. During his time in service he participated in two deployments, once to Iraq and subsequently to Southeast Asia.
As the Systems and Network Manager at Aptitude, Henry’s responsibilities are as varied as they are critical. He is on-call 24/7, 365 ready to respond to emergency outages, glitches in the matrix and an insufficient amount of meme sharing in the team chats. As the company continues to grow, Henry looks forward to increasing his responsibilities to lead the Network Operations Center (NOC).
When he is not keeping our communities online by taking care of the perplexing technical minutiae that makes the internet go, Henry keeps up with a variety of hobbies from video gaming, to smoking meats and riding his bicycle. Henry was a preeminent figure earlier this year during Aptitude’s Meat Meet 2024, faithfully donning the chef’s apron and manning the flame by grilling up perfectly seared steaks and brats for the whole team.
Contrary to his daily immersion in the world of technology, some of Henry’s favorite entertainment hearkens back to a mythical age of barefoot Hobbits and fire breathing dragons in shows like Rings of Power and House of the Dragon. When he’s not memorizing the dialogue in his favorite Lord of the Rings shows, you might find him lip syncing to his favorite tunes by artists like Coheed & Cambria or other similar rock groups.
While most of Henry’s duties are behind the scenes, you can always think of his hard work when you’re enjoying a seamless internet connection with Aptitude. If you’d like to call and let him know how much you appreciate his work, or to recommend your favorite memes, you can leave him a message at 573-755-0555.
