August is a busy month for most people, and it was no different for all of us at Aptitude. With the summer months fading and the blistering heatwaves relenting; vacations conclude as far-reaching road trips enter their final port of call at home sweet home; the kids hang up their hats from summer jobs or say ‘so long so soon’ to poolside playtimes and summertime besties before donning their backpacks and marching off back to school.
Before the memories of summer 2024 fade away entirely, we’d like to take a moment to revisit all the exciting moments we were lucky to be a part of last month.

Top Prized Internet at Phelps County Fair
The Phelps County Fair once again proved to be a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to engage with the community, and Aptitude was no exception. Our booth saw a steady stream of visitors throughout the event, allowing us to connect with numerous residents and share insights about our services.
The enthusiasm of fairgoers was truly inspiring, reinforcing the strong sense of community that makes Phelps County special. Aptitude’s Cooling Station a Hit at Jour De Fete
This month, Aptitude made a splash at the annual Jour De Fete celebration in historic downtown Ste. Genevieve. Our booth was a welcome sight for festivalgoers looking to beat the heat and learn more about our services.
We were thrilled to connect with so many members of the community and hand out some fun Aptitude swag. The positive response to our presence at the festival was truly heartwarming.
The Jour De Fete celebration, with its rich history and vibrant atmosphere, proved to be the perfect backdrop for Aptitude to engage with both new and familiar faces. We’re already looking forward to participating in next year’s event!

Aptitude’s 80s Outdoor Movie Nights: A Summer to Remember
This summer, Aptitude took a trip back in time with our series of 1980s-themed outdoor movie nights. We were thrilled to sponsor these events in three wonderful communities: Farmington in cooperation with the city’s Parks & Recreation department, St. James at the historic Meramec Spring Park, and Ste. Genevieve in cooperation with their Parks & Recreation department team. Each night was a blast from the past, featuring the classic family comedy “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and plenty of rad 80s swag to give away.
As the sun set and the stars came out, families and friends gathered with their blankets and lawn chairs, ready for a night of nostalgia and entertainment. The atmosphere was electric, with the excited chatter of children and the knowing smiles of parents who remembered seeing the film during its original release. Our team was on hand to distribute a variety of 80s-themed goodies, adding to the retro vibe of the evenings.
We’re grateful to the communities of Farmington, St. James, and Ste. Genevieve for embracing these events with such enthusiasm. These movie nights weren’t just about entertainment; they were about bringing people together and creating lasting memories. At Aptitude, we believe in the power of community, and we’re proud to have played a part in these special summer evenings.
Celebrating Our Educators: Aptitude’s Teacher Appreciation Giveaway
At Aptitude, we believe in the power of education and the incredible impact teachers have on our communities. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a giveaway to honor these unsung heroes, and we were truly overwhelmed by the response. The sheer number of entries we received served as a powerful reminder of the dedication and passion that educators bring to their classrooms every day.
We’re thrilled to announce that ten outstanding teachers have each won a $100 Amazon gift card and gift bag.
